Making a toddler cupcake costume!

How to make a toddler cupcake costume. 

Astoria style (Katie Rose and Leah Alana!).

The outfit is for Azzi, but Madison was the only small child around, thus...why not a picture with Katie?

Supply list.

1. imagination and a pinterest search

2. base for cupcake (we used a thrift store lampshade, you could use cardboard, or cut out the bottom of a round laundry basket) 

3. shoulder straps (pink ribbon)

3. base for frosting (very old light pink t-shirt) 

4. frosting (tulle)

5. sprinkles (we used kids craft pom poms)

6. cupcake "liner" (heavy duty tin foil)

Simple directions: 

Place the lampshade as it would be worn for the costume. Stretch a t-shirt to fit the edges of the lampshade. Cut and tie the t-shirt bottom to the lampshade. We tied the shirt in eight places along the edge. Once cut decide how tall the "frosting" will need to be. We simply cut off the top of the t-shirt and folded the cut edge into the costume. Poke holes in the folded edge and tie the ribbon from front to back on both sides (shoulder straps that can be easily tied and untied when getting the costume on and off)

Wrap the lampshade with foil.

Wrap the t-shirt with tulle.

Glue pom poms to the tulle.
